Just an FYI from EA Schensky & Associates
The IRS has announced that most taxpayers will have until April 18, 2016 to file their 2015 tax return and make first quarter estimated payments.
In Revenue Ruling 2015-13, the IRS explains that when April 15 falls on a weekend or holiday, a return is considered timely filed if it is filed on the next succeeding day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday. Since Saturday, April 16, 2016, is Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia, the holiday is observed on Friday, April 15, extending the tax deadline to Monday, April 18, 2016.
